The best part of the whole "Change" movement, is it encompasses so much while focusing on something that, when you really look at it, can be broken down into one thing. It’s a brake from the monotony. I think that's the biggest thing Obama has going for him. His focus on one singular message. If you look at the past elections, specifically Clinton's first, he won on the same message just wrapped up in the phrase, "It's the economy, stupid." Bush won his, sadly, on protecting the US from terror more or less. While everyone else is unfocused, Obama has stayed the course (that was intended) and given people hope that “Change," no matter what it is, will happen once he is elected.

So I’ll take Change vs. more of the same.

Thanks Cecil. Good point. And the reason the focus on that one message works is because MOST people will take ANY CHANGE vs. more of the same. It doesn't take a genius to realize that Americans are unhappy, and that naturally lends itself to a positive reception of a message of "change."

Of course, I purposefully didn't get into too much detail about the sweeping statement that I made about Barack Obama being able to back up his message of "change" with action... that's a much larger discussion about his policy, ethics, and achievements. Perhaps there will be more on that later... :)

Like you i've always been in the middle of the road when it came to politics, I know all american are unhappy and the reason the focus on that one message works is because MOST people will take ANY CHANGE vs. more of the same. I believe that obama can change this situation.
